This weekend has been quite emotional for me and I am sorry that I keep blogging about my Dad but it is still so unbelievable that he is gone that I think it helps to write about it.  Last weekend my dad's headstone was put into place and it turned out so beautiful.  My mom put a lot of thought into it and it turned out just perfect.  We had all of our family meet at the cemetery and she told all of us why she chose the quote on the bottom which reads "Eternal companions serving with love, blessed are they who enjoy the journey"  on the marker.  That quote describes them perfectly.  They were always out serving us kids and others.  They loved being together and helped us with lots of projects.  On the back the scripture reads " I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth."    My parents are the greatest example to me and taught me that to walk in the truth is to rely on our Savior even through all of our trials and adversity.  He is always there for us.  I hope that Eric and I are also teaching our children how important that is.  We had a balloon for each of the grandkids to let go and watch go up in the sky to grandpa.  It was a beautiful afternoon.  It is nice to know that we can go there and remember grandpa.
This weekend we went back to the Bountiful cemetery and were amazed at how many flowers and balloons had been put on the grave.  It looked so beautiful.  We also went to visit Eric's mom's grave which is also in the Bountiful cemetery.  I have wished many times that I could have met Eric's mom but she passed away when eric was 8 years old.  I have heard many wonderful stories about her and I admire her so much.  She raised a wonderful Son who I am so lucky to have as my husband.  She also had 3 other sons and 2 daughters who I love so much.  I am proud to be part of the Seljaas Family.  Even though we have never met her, Grandma Nancy is someone we talk about a lot in our home.
It is nice to have weekends like this where you can reflect on the wonderful people in your life who have left such an impact and hope that those memories will stay with us forever.

Happy Gardening!!

Well this is our latest attempt at growing a garden.  It seems that every year we debate on whether or not we should try.  Last year the kids were all excited to help and then the weeds took over and we didn't get to many vegetables out of it.  IT WAS A BIG MESS!  So this year the time came around again to start thinking about it and we decided to fix it up a little bit so the weeds wouldn't take over.  Eric laid down thick plastic to go over the dirt so the weeds wouldn't get through.  Then we went and bought bark to go around our boxes.  so far so good!  we planted our vegetables and watered them and thought every thing was great.  Yesterday we went out to water and one of the cucumber plants was wilted over.  I was so mad!  I guess we just aren't the best gardeners! 0h well.  The kids think it's great so I guess it's ok.  Let's just hope we get a few vegetables out of it!

Mothers Day

I am so grateful to be a mother to these sweet girls.  There are many days that I feel like I am going crazy but they are the best.  They are constantly doing things to bring a smile to my face and I love them so much!
